It's less a problem with the dongle, and more a problem with laptops only having a couple, usually at most, USB ports, and usually those being pretty close together or near other inputs (like power, on the Macbook Air). The only problem I ever had was the dongle failing and having to ship it to California from the UK as there is no alternative location to get a replacement and your account transferred. I find it much more convenient than having to locate multiple authorization codes in some emails way back. Personally I don't understand the problem people have with iLok and dongles. When I say 'newer' iLok 2 it is now a few years old.Īs far as I am aware, using a USB Hub is not recommended.
